Sticky Jazz Interview Bhi Bhiman / Substitute Preacher
"PARAAAISE THE LORD", and lots of other religious imagery from the new EP "Substitute Preacher 2" from the guitarist and singer Bhi Bhiman. He has been producing some of the most ecclectic work I have heard in a very long time.
The Substitute Preacher 2 (a follow up to "Substitute Preacher") has a string of covers like you have never heard before, of Black Sabbath, The Cars, and AC/DC. He plays them in a folk style sometimes with the vocal style of Nina Simone, or a worship band at a revival.
The social commentaries and experiences around them are very powerful. This guy requires a "Sit down and listen".
