  • 036: Trusting God Through Breast Cancer: A Story of Faith & Hope

How do you keep trusting God when life takes an unexpected turn?

In this episode of the Still Being Shaped Podcast, Gabby sits down with Kyndall Rogers, a wife, mom of two, and breast cancer survivor from Arkansas, for an honest conversation about faith, infertility, cancer, and learning to trust God's timing.

After years of infertility treatments and eventually welcoming two boys, Kyndall thought she was entering an exciting new chapter in her career. Then, at just 36 years old, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer.

Through 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and the emotional challenges of treatment and recovery, Kyndall shares how her relationship with Jesus helped her navigate fear, uncertainty, and the moments when she felt completely out of control.

Together, Gabby and Kyndall talk about surrendering to God's plan, the power of prayer and Christian community, finding joy in difficult seasons, and learning to lean on God when you don't have all the answers.

Kyndall also opens up about something many cancer survivors experience but don't always talk about: being grateful to be alive while still grieving the person they were before cancer.

If you're walking through a health battle, struggling with infertility, facing an uncertain future, or simply finding it hard to trust God's timing, this conversation is for you.

A reminder that faith doesn't mean you'll never feel afraid. You can have faith and fear at the same time, and God is still with you through it all.

  • 033: Elle Ray on Worship, Church Hurt, and Coming to God As You Are

"Jesus conquered it all, so you don't have to conquer anything before you come to Him."

Elle Ray is a Christian indie pop-alt artist, an Arkansas girl, and a former hometown worship leader who wrote her first song about Jesus at nine. Her first move to Nashville ended a month in with a totaled car and a concussion. She went home, prayed, waited a couple of years, and went back. Along the way, leading worship turned into the only place she could feel God, and she had to relearn that grace isn't a checklist.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The papaw story: a hitchhiker, a skating rink, a loaded gun, and the night God fought for her grandfather while the family slept
    • Delays aren't denials: the car wreck, the long wait, and trusting God's timing when your calling feels on hold
    • Burnout behind the mic: when worship became performance, and why she stepped off the team
    • Church hurt and grace: telling people the truth gently, loving them first, and letting His kindness do the drawing
    • "Come and talk with me": journaling, Psalm 27:8, and bringing God the small everyday stuff, not just the big crises

However long it's been, He's still waiting with open arms. Come as you are. You're still being shaped.

  • 032: When Good Things Become God Things

"Good things become bad things when they become god things in our life."

Hannah Roy found fitness in 2020, but by her own account, God was nowhere in it at the start. It was just her, the workouts, and the food, chasing a body instead of a Savior. In this episode, Hannah opens up about the moment a single verse flipped her whole engine from discipline to obedience, what it actually costs to build a faith-centered fitness brand online, and why she'd rather post one thing with purpose than a hundred things for clout.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The Idol Nobody Talks About: how fitness quietly became worship before Hannah even noticed
    • Stop Starting Over: why shame keeps you stuck and mercy actually moves you forward
    • The Cost of Being Seen: navigating online hate as a woman who won't stop talking about Jesus and modesty
    • Building With Both Hands Open: launching a modest activewear brand while refusing to chase Amazon prices
    • Rest as Rebellion: what it looks like to hand your calendar back to God when busy feels like being faithful

Come as you are. He'll take it from there.

  • 031: Who Are You When Everything Is Stripped Away?

"If my identity is in Christ, everything else is as it should be."

Kiki is a wife, a mom, an elite HIROX athlete, and a business owner, but strip all of that away and who is actually left? In this episode, Gabby sits down with longtime friend Kirsten Tackett to talk about the identity crisis that hits when the things you do get taken away, and the years-long fight to find healing from an eating disorder that started in middle school.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The four-word bio test. What is left of you when wife, mom, athlete, and business owner get taken off the table.
    • Big rocks first. Why the important things have to go into your day before anything else gets to fit.
    • The truth behind the lie. A practical way to filter what is actually true out of a negative thought instead of just suppressing it.
    • Eating disorder recovery is not passive. What it actually took to go from hopeless to healed, and why she pursued it for her future kids.
    • Pruning what looks good. The garden metaphor for why healthy things sometimes still have to be cut back to make room for real growth.

However you are showing up today, God is not asking for your performance. He is asking for you. Come sit with us for this one.

  • 030: I Made Millions and Lost My Soul w/ David Carpenter

"I'm tired of losing my soul just to gain some money."

David Carpenter had the two-million-dollar house, the cars, the designer, and millions in the bank. He's also had $300,000 in debt, a business cut in half, and a heart that money owned completely. This is the conversation about what it actually costs to be free.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The heartbreak he needed. How losing a girlfriend, failing an exam four times, and burying his oldest brother a week before test day became the doorway instead of the dead end.
    • When success stops satisfying. What happens when you finally get everything culture promised would fix you, and it doesn't.
    • The full surrender. Changing his number, giving away $100,000 of designer, walking away from a relationship and a whole friend group, and what God did with the space that was left.
    • Heart posture over everything. Why the nice house isn't the question, why poverty isn't holiness, and how the parable of the talents wrecks the way most Christians think about money.
    • Big doors swing on small hinges. Two stories that will change how you show up to the small, overlooked assignment you're tempted to skip.
    • Kingdom dishes. Why worship isn't just Sunday, and how the mundane becomes ministry.

You are not too far gone, too far behind, or too far along to still be shaped. Press play.

  • 029: We Went From Strangers to Co-Owners in 8 Months

In this conversation, Gabby introduces Marissa Longley, newly named co-owner of Made of Clay, and unpacks the wild, God-ordained friendship that made it happen. From a random conference connection to a 6-hour Baton Rouge road trip that changed everything, to the spiritual alignment that made saying "yes" feel inevitable. Plus the official announcement: Made of Clay Podcast is rebranding as Still Being Shaped Podcast.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The Stranger-to-Sister Story: How Gabby and Marissa went from acquaintances to best friends in one road trip
    • Getting Your Feet Wet: Why obedience means stepping into the river before God parts it (and how Draw the Circle changed their prayer life)
    • Love as the North Star: Why 1 Corinthians 13 isn't just poetry—it's the entire business model
    • What Co-Ownership Actually Means: How two women built a partnership rooted in prayer, not profit margins
    • The SHAPE Framework: How your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences combine to create your unique Kingdom calling

We also talk about why Christian friendships hit different, how God uses your messiest experiences for His glory, and why there's no "B Team" in the Kingdom.

  • 028: He Prayed for a Hard Season. Two Months Later a Drunk Driving Crash Left Him Paralyzed.

"I asked God to present me with something hard I could grow from. I just should have clarified, let's not do paralysis."

Two months before a drunk driving accident broke his neck and left him paralyzed from the chest down, 26-year-old Riley Lambert prayed for a hardship that would grow his faith. In this raw and unforgettable conversation, Riley shares why he has never once blamed God, how being forced to be still finally introduced him to the Holy Spirit, and what gratitude actually looks like on the days that simply suck.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The Prayer That Changed Everything — how asking God for a "hard situation" set the stage for the hardest and most defining season of his life
    • Never Blaming God — why Riley sees his paralysis as an answer to prayer instead of a punishment
    • The Gift of Being Still — finding the Holy Spirit when you can no longer distract yourself from your own thoughts
    • The Midwit Trap — why we overcomplicate faith, gratitude, and life when simplicity is the whole point
    • The Hard Thing Is the Right Thing — a simple filter for discernment, from reading the Word to guarding your time on social media

You are a jar of clay, cracked and imperfect, and that is exactly where His light gets in. Keep running the race, friends. We're praying for you.

  • 027: God Is SO Much More Than a Spot on Your Calendar

"God is not a spot on your calendar. He is the paper on which the calendar is written."

Jay Owen started his agency at 17 with $5,500 in his first year. More than two decades later it's a multimillion dollar business, and he's Chief of Ministry Staff at one of the fastest growing churches in the country. But this conversation isn't really about success. It's about what it costs, what actually lasts, and the day his wife looked at him on a hotel bed and said, "Something's gotta change."

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The work-life "blender," not balance: Why balance is the wrong goal, and how to think in rhythms and seasons instead of a 50/50 split that never works.
    • The four people every person needs: Someone to look up to, someone looking up to you, someone beside you, and someone who believes in you when you don't believe in yourself.
    • "It's not your business to succeed": How Jay untangled his identity from his achievements and learned to steward instead of striving.
    • Faith meets AI: The Parable of the Five Talents, the Great Commission, and where Jay draws the line between a kingdom tool and outsourcing what humans should do.
    • The story you're telling is not your own: Why your customer is the hero, and how clarity in messaging changes everything.

You are not too broken for God to use. He does His best work through the cracks. Press play, friend. We're praying for you.
