Cindy Whitehead is a former pro skateboarder and was a top-ranked vert skater back in the ‘70s. She’s an integral part of the history of the sport, so much so that in 2016 she was inducted into the Skateboard Hall of Fame, and for the past two decades, she’s spent her time working to provide a space for the next generation of young female skaters with her project “Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word.” Cindy and I spoke about the California skate scene in the ‘70s, being a pioneering woman in the sport, and her current career as a sports stylist.
