Carla was no stranger to life’s curveballs, having survived many in her younger years. No matter what never let anything stop her from chasing her dream of becoming a schoolteacher — and she was, as she describes, “one of the lucky ones” who landed a competitive permanent position at a school board. During her 3rd year of teaching, Carla began to feel tired — exhaustion that she had never experienced before. Little did she know that the cause of her exhaustion would be her biggest curveball yet.
In this episode, we chat with Carla and we learn about her journey with Cushing’s Disease and the resilience, solace and fortitude she built brick by brick along the way.
