Day 7 takes us into the wilderness with Jacob, a man running for his life and clinging to a fragile promise. In Genesis 28, Jacob encounters God in a dream—a ladder stretching from earth to heaven and the assurance that God will be with him, protect him, and bring him home. Jacob responds by building a stone pillar—a “stone of remembrance”—declaring that God will be faithful to the promises spoken over his life.
In this episode, we explore how waiting well means holding onto hope in God’s promises, even when circumstances feel uncertain or frightening. Jacob’s story invites us to remember the places where God has shown up before so we can trust Him with what comes next.
We also look at how Jesus fulfills this story in John 1:51. When Jesus calls Himself the true ladder, He reveals that He is the connection between heaven and earth—the One through whom God’s promises of reconciliation and restoration are brought to completion. Jesus is the fulfillment of the ancient hope that all creation would be brought back to God.
Join us as we reflect on hope, promise, and the God who brings exiles home.
