Lee Boot (00:00): Down at your feet, lying along the floor are some of the panels from the large 8 x 24 foot painting that you saw a photograph of to the left. I'm calling these leftovers because they literally were just sort of accidents of the painting and thinking process that survived. Most of that big painting did not survive cuz I just painted over it to do the storyboards for the film. But these, I just, they just kind of hung around. I don't know why I put them in the show because I really like looking at them. I, I don't know why, you know, they're just abstract marks. Not that there isn't artwork out there that might look something like this abstract artwork. It's certainly viable in the, in the field. But I'm interested in them because I know what they're connected to. I know they're about the writing of a film about brains and da da da, and I wonder if audiences, if, if viewers, if museum goers won't find them a little bit more meaningful than, or, or meaningful in different ways than other abstract paintings they might see because they know that they were connected to this project to, to help teenagers understand their brains.
(01:20): So, I don't know. I just kind of like looking at them and imagining how that meaning might shift or elevate the aesthetic of them. It's sort of an experiment, me putting them in this, in this exhibit.
