Not every word spoken through Christian lips is the truth!

When well-meaning people want to advise you, always check not only their motive, but also their source. When Peter addressed Jesus in order to save Him from the cross, Jesus turned to him and declared ‘get behind me Satan’. In the same way, make sure that people that have your ear are not sent by the enemy to keep you from fulfilling the plan of God for your life.
