Stop! And Dance On

Hailing from Coventry.....Pete Ashmore has had an unflinching passion towards the dance music scene after growing up in the Midlands Rave scene where he fell in love with all dance! After a stop off at the legendary Bang-In Tunes record shop at age 14 it was clear that DJing was in his spirit so after grabbing a cheap battered set of turntables he started to learn to mix and throwing house parties. His first big break came at Sanctuary sound system in Coventry playing the dreamy sounds of intelligent drum and bass he quickly gained a reputation as a young DJ who wanted to stretch and push boundaries. He became part of Full On Promotions with DJs Jon sessions, Andy K and played alongside Coventry legends Carl Williams and Neil Trix AKA FBD Project. 

Always one to change things up he quickly developed a new found love for Epic melodic Trance inspired by Judge Jules, AVB, Paul Van Dyk, Lange, Rank 1 and Dash Berlin (the list goes on) and started to DJ under the name DJ DIZZY.

As the scene changed his style changed and although everything went very "clubland" and bouncy he continued to thump out the big trance anthems this time with a residency at the Planet Nightclub (Formerly the edge, the eclipse). 

After some time out following Petes career in the RAF taking off (no pun intended!) he found the turntables calling once again and quickly found a passion for all things arrogant and funky playing sounds from hed kandi, fierce angel, housexy and MOS. So dropping the Dizzy name he went for DJ Pete Ashmore and while never forgetting his rave roots the vibe that was spilling from the speakers quickly found him offered his own night at STARs Bar in AYLESBURY. The Wednesday House party and the Saturday Session were born.

Upon moving to Oxford the Eagles Bar beckoned and the beats just kept on beating with theme nights, fancy dress parties and good old fashioned house parties to please the masses. 

He then moved to Norfolk and helped set up the Grafton Club with regular dance music and rave nights with the energy that only those genres can bring and despite moving the club is still bouncing! 

During the pandemic Pete created ‘Our House’ - a concept born from the online streams he put on during a time where music really helped people to get through those dark days and upon settling in Bucks he took that concept and now has regular nights at venues in Bucks, Herts and beyond creating dancefloor experiences with every set. 

Energy is what music is about so no matter what music he is playing he will find the vibe to fit any dancefloor, any crowd, any time. His motto ‘DJs don’t just play music, they play dancefloors!’
