On LinkedIn you will find a lot of people literally begging for job. One HR Manager literally used this term with a picture of him crying.Checked his LinkedIn profile and found he did MBA from a good college and was working in big firms till 2020. And he also mentioned that he was earning good.But he did the classic mistake which a lot of people do, which is not developing skills outside job. Now, these skills are not necessarily some thing else. They can be your core skills.Finance Influencer Akshat Shrivastava is a great example. When he was working for the top Finance firm and earning 50 LPA, he sharpen his finance skills. And start teaching students about it and earning and additional source of Income. He became so good at it and his YouTube channel grew like crazy and he left his job.Beside this he did another thing which most people don't do. He also builded Wealth by living a minimilastic life. He is not a miser and stay in 5 stars, go to vacations but don't buy things to impress the society. He recently upgraded from a i20 to Nexon, when he can easily afford a Merc.Most people living in Metros and getting a high salary don't upgrade their existing skills. This can even help them in the job, if you stay updated.Building wealth for them is buying a 2 cr flat, which is a depreciating asset in Metros. And also the high EMI stops you to do anything in life.One of my friend want to go full time in his stealth mode startup, but the EMI of his Metro flat stopping him to leave his high paying job.Finance and IT are top fields which constantly requires you to upgrade. But it is true for every other field also.But in IT i see people want to move to a non-tech job fast, where they are in hurry to become Managers.Most people are happy becoming Mid-level Managers and forget their core skill of coding. These Managers are first to be fired in a down economy as happenied in all FAANG companies.So, never give up your skills if you are in the top field of IT or finance.
