In this episode, Eddie and I will have a conversation about being judgmental, how our opinions of others sometimes block us from blessings, and how judgments can narrow a person’s world completely, so much so that they end up always missing out on some very interesting and fantastic people. To give you a clear picture of what that is all about, I’ll share a story about my sister and her husband. They met in the neighborhood where we grew up, and back then, my brother-in-law was this little thug gangster that I had a very low opinion of. I couldn’t tell my sister to stop seeing him, so I figured I should just wait for her to outgrow him, but that never happened, and long story short, they stuck together through the years until they eventually got married.
My brother-in-law is now one of the best things that’s ever happened to our family. He’s a great dad and husband, and he just brings so much joy and laughter into our family. With all our judgement of him, he totally proved us all wrong. That’s how we as human beings tend to be judgmental of one another. We all have some sort of point system that we use to gauge others based on how they look, talk, or walk. And deep inside, we feel like we have the authority to make judgement about others and condemn them to our views of them.
But that has been proven to cause way more harm than good on a judgmental individual, because a lot of the times where we judge others, we lose out on opportunities to meet great people who can positively impact our lives in diverse ways, and even lose out on opportunities that can change our present and future lives. Eddie and I will share our personal experiences with being judgmental, and how avoiding it has been so beneficial to us, so you can really see just how powerful not being judgmental can be in pushing you towards great possibilities, blessings and achievements in life. Stay tuned for more.
