APRIL 2023| INTENTIONAL PRAISE| UNDERSTANDING PRAISE| REASONS WHY WE ARE TO PRAISE GOD pt11| BECAUSE HE IS OUR STRENGTH| CHIMDI OHAHUNA.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Psalm 28:7, KJV.
This teaching on reasons why we praise God reveals and explains why it is important for believers to move from knowing another name and character of God as, the LORD is my strength, to possessing a personal revelation and experience of the LORD as one's strength.
This is seen in the way the disciples of Jesus received the infilling of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). The account helps us know that the strength of the Holy Spirit, works for us on an individual level. The Bible says,
"And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them".
(Acts 2:3 KJV).
The truth remains, it takes God being one's strength on a personal note to encourage oneself in times of despair and depression. Just as the eagles cannot depend on the strength of the eagle for too long, it is risky for a believer to depend on the strength of those who possess the revelation of the LORD as their strength.
