Field Notes: 5 Day Devo

Stop Freezing Up When Sharing Faith

Listen Later

You don’t need a seminary degree to share your faith, and you definitely don’t need to win a debate to be faithful. We’re naming the pressure so many believers carry the fear of looking foolish, the fear of getting asked a question you can’t answer, the fear that you have to “preach” like a pro. Then we replace that pressure with something biblical, doable, and freeing.

We talk through the difference between teaching and preaching, including why James 3:1 treats teaching as a serious calling not everyone is meant to take on. From there, we lean into Acts 1:8 and the simple, Spirit-empowered role every Christian shares: being a witness. Proclaiming the gospel is not a performance. It’s telling the truth about Jesus and telling the story of what He has done in your life, sometimes in the most ordinary setting possible, like a dinner table with friends.

We also tackle the moment that trips people up most: questions. If you know an answer, share it. If you don’t, that’s not the end it can be the start of a real conversation where you search the Scriptures together or bring in a more mature believer. To make this practical, we give a clear action step: write a short personal testimony you can keep in your phone or wallet using a three-part structure before Christ, how Jesus met you, who you are now.

If you want a simple, confident way to share your faith, grow in everyday evangelism, and proclaim the gospel without panic, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review so more people can find Field Notes.
