But I was shocked to find that many readers saw Murderbot as female—or even beyond gender entirely. Turns out, Murderbot is an "it." It prefers to avoid pronouns like "he" or "she." But fans can’t seem to agree on what that means for its personality or how it should be portrayed on screen.
