In this second episode in this series we are going to identify some of the general characteristics of unsafe, toxic people. While these people can be defined as "emotional vampires" let us understand that all of us can exhibit some of these characteristics if we are not growing in grace and walking in the spirit. The Christian life is difficult and not for the faint of heart. If we want to live a victorious life in Christ we must learn not to wound ourselves. This is the second part in this short series. Printed notes are available by request. 

Self inflicted wounds are the most difficult to treat and to heal. In this episode we will be considering some of the ways Christians wound themselves and how they can be avoided. Printed notes are available upon request. 

Our text today is Acts 9:23-28 where we see how Barnabas came along Saul ( who would later be the Apostle Paul) at a crucial point in his life and gave him the encouragement he needed. The point is that we all know someone who needs encouragement, someone that needs to know how unique and special they are in the economy of God. Encouragement is a gift that we can all give to someone today. 

In this episode our text is 2nd Timothy 2:1-7 where the Apostle Paul instructs Timothy to seek out faithful men who will be able to teach others the Word of God. The Apostle then expounds on the characteristics that such men should have in order to advance the Kingdom of God. 

Here in part 2 of "Luke, Jim and Frodo" we explore how pop culture has impacted the way people think about reality and how we as Christians can reach out with the Gospel. Our foundational Scripture is Acts 17: 16-32. 

As Christians living in a secular society saturated with pop culture how can we reach out to people inculcated in what seems to be thinking completely antithetical to our own? The answer is to understand the underlying presuppositions of current pop culture, and communicate with others in ways that they will understand.

When Moses made excuses for not wanting to obey God the Lord challenged him to see what God had placed in his hand. All through the Bible we see ordinary people doing extraordinary things with what God gave them. We need to see what God has given to us and use whatever it is for His Glory!
