Straight From The Off welcomes John Roche to the podcast. John went from playing knockout pairs on Hawksmoor Park in Fazakerley to playing in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. He played for Holy Name, Skelmersdale, Kirkby Town amongst others but most notably Marine where he had his longest and most successful stint. John won many trophies along the way but modestly refers to himself as ‘Johnny on the spot’ meaning he got lucky. Many would disagree with that. John is fighting against Parkinsons Disease but is determined to live his best life whilst helping others with the condition along the way. He tells us the signs to look out for and how to look out for your friends and team-mates. He tells us tales from all the clubs he played for over the years including one about meeting Pele! and the players he played with and against and throughout those times.
