Grunts in Appalachia

Straight out of Prison with Derrick Evans

Listen Later

January 6th Derrick Evans was a newly elected member to the West Virginia House of Delegates and a Trump supporter.  He went to the Capitol for the rally and then entered the US Capitol as a peaceful protestor.  Derrick became one of the faces of the "Insurrection" since he was an elected politician and since that day our government has put him and his family through hell.  But you can't keep a good man down and Derrick has now served his prison sentence and he talked to us about his prison bout at length.

Three months he sat in prison and during that time he made the best of it.  He learned about the customs and culture of prison life and he explained to us how many US citizens are currently spending time in the clink for victimless crimes and petty drug charges that are absolutely ridiculous.

Derrick refused the COVID vaccination so upon reporting to prison he had to spend his first 8 days in solitary confinement which he explains how he passed the time.  The segregation of races in prison is a serious thing but in his case he said that he didn't encounter any racism it was just how they did things to make it safer and as free inside as possible.  The hierarchy of the inmates and television and food are the things that are cherished the most.

You don't want to miss this almost expose on our prison system, just a warning this episode isn't one to listen to with children.
