The thing about the first day of school though is that it’s not just another cycle repeating itself, even though it may feel like it sometimes. It is literally a life-changing moment -- you will only have one first day of high school, or one first day of eighth grade. The decisions you make on the first day of school (and each day thereafter, honestly) will change your life -- hopefully for the better.
So why am I bringing this up in my sermon? This isn’t news to any of you, really. What makes this so important that I would bring it up on a Friday night?
