Although I've never seen a Tyler Perry film before, this is not what I was anticipating! Taraji P. Henson and the other actresses give heartbreakingly emotional performances in this heartbreaking film. Although not enough to detract from the main plot, a few of the supporting characters seemed somewhat unusual. 

 

Although the film is classified as a thriller, it feels more like a horror film, with America and its numerous oppressive systems acting as the antagonists, making life difficult for ordinary people.
