This week we dive into the world behind the scenes of making video games with our guest Rachel Decker who works for AAA games video game localization specialist. Game localization in the traditional sense of the word is fairly common knowledge at this point. You take a game in one language, say Japanese, and translate it to a target language of the region the game is being released. But did you know that game localization is also the practice of taking into consideration cultural difference between regions?! What is considered “OK” in one country may not be acceptable in another! That’s exactly what Rachel aka Hyperzengirl does for her day job, and in the evening she is a prominent twitch streamer who streams…crocheting???
