Life is filled with firsts—moments we don’t feel ready for, yet God calls us into them anyway. These are the moments that shape us—conversations we didn’t script, decisions we can’t delay and pressures that stretch us beyond our capacity. In John 16, Jesus doesn’t prepare His disciples for easy moments, but for defining ones—calling them beyond comfort into calling. And He anchors them in this promise: when the moment comes, you will not face it alone—the Spirit will be present and powerful. You are not unprepared—you are being prepared. And when your moment comes, the Spirit will give you strength for it.
