“മനുഷ്യരോടു മത്സരിച്ചോടി നീ തളര്‍ന്നെങ്കില്‍

കുതിരകളോട് എങ്ങനെ മത്സരിക്കും?

സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനത്തു കാലിടറുന്നെങ്കില്‍

ജോര്‍ദാന്‍ വനങ്ങളില്‍ നീ എന്തുചെയ്യും?”

English (AMP):

“[The Lord rebukes Jeremiah for his impatience, saying]

‘If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out,

Then how can you compete with horses?

If you fall down in a land of peace [where you feel secure],

Then how will you do [among the lions] in the [flooded] thicket beside the Jordan?’”
