Notes
Experiencing life as it should be is a stark reminder that life isn’t all it’s meant to be.
Unquenchable Ache
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart.
We’re made to have a perfect
We often medicate our unquenchable ache by chasing substitutes that only add to our pain.
Adult-ing often leaves us exhausted and stressed-out.
We don’t need more
Using substitutes to medicate our ache only adds to our pain.
We want the ‘feel good’ of the life we’re meant for, but without any of the pain that’s a part of the real world.
When the people found Jesus on the other side of the lake, they said to him, “Teacher, when did you get here?”
Jesus answered, “I am telling you the truth: you are looking for me because you ate the bread and had all you wanted, not because you understood my miracles.”
“Do not work for food that spoils; instead, work for the food that lasts for eternal life.”
“Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?”
Jesus teaches us to pursue what matters over what makes us feel good.
Enjoyment vs Pleasure
Trusting the promises of Jesus allows us to chase what matters not what medicates.
