Stretching for Sciatica Pain Relief

Sciatica––it sounds like a life sentence of chronic pain numbed only by painkillers and chiropractor visits. Too often, stretching for sciatica is not added into the equation, even though it can eliminate the need for painkillers, improve range of motion, and prevent further injury.

Maybe all we were trying to do was lift our kid up onto the swing, move a new desk upstairs, or maybe just drive to work then sit at a desk all day. Now we’re bound to the couch, walking with a limp, and in constant pain.

Chiropractor visits aren’t even an option because we can’t manage to lie flat without excruciating pain. Pain pills are only masking the condition, but to figure out what’s really wrong, we need to understand what exactly sciatica is.
