When the world is brutal, hardening yourself is a matter of survival. But the strong still need the sweet. I don’t write a lot of love stories, but this one sort of tumbled onto the page. I am someone who forgets the importance of sweetness sometimes, and this is a reminder to myself as much as any of you.
