When I was growing up, I struggled with my blackness. Sometimes it’s hard to describe what it's like to be black, because it’s a unique experience to each individual. Each black person has a different perspective and idea on what “being black” means to them. 

Today, I am going to talk about different experiences that have shaped my blackness. You will get to know me on a deeper level.  Please remember that this is MY EXPERIENCE in MY OWN WORDS. Your words and experiences may be different from mine… and that's okay.
