Joy can feel cheesy or unrealistic, especially during the Christmas season. But Scripture shows that joy isn’t something you manufacture by fixing your circumstances. Joy begins when you recognize that God is present — and it’s rooted in hope that the way things are now is not how they will always be because of Jesus.
