Stuart Hunter is the current manager of Scottish Lowland League hot-shots Bo'ness United. Under his stewardship so far, the BU's have enjoyed a resurgence up the table, sitting in third place at the time of writing. As a player, he was Mr Bo'ness, anchoring his spot in the defensive line for years, and he looks to continue his legendary run into his management career. From the unpredictability of the B-Team outfits, to getting sent off for "inciting crowd violence" by Craig Napier in Rutherglen, this interview gives an insight into life in the lower leagues from one of its most accomplished servants.
A big thank you to both Stuart and Bo'ness United for making this possible. So far we've been fortunate to have heard from guys who have experience at the top level in Scotland, however I found Stuart's experience and stories of the lower leagues both refreshing and entertaining. From the many familiar names he encountered and how he balanced his day-to-day life and football were all superb. I wish him and the lads all the best in what still remains an outside shot at the title this season. He's a credit to the club and I'm sure you'll agree the club are headed in the right direction with him in the dugout!
If you're in and around Bo'ness, or Stuart has convinced you to tick Newton Park off of your bucket list, get down and support the team. Check them out here at
For all returning viewers, your words of encouragement do not go unnoticed. Thank you, we've got some really exciting things coming up!
