Stuck in a creative slump? 3 Ways to Inspire Yourself Today!

Listen Later

So many of us feel like we are in a creative slump from time to time, where we don’t know what to photograph, or we just feel like everything is boring and we’re taking the same photograph over and over and over again.

If you are feeling like that - welcome to the club! I haven’t met a single human being who hasn’t felt frustrated and uncreative from time to time - and remember, I’ve worked with thousands of students in my program so I know you are definitely not alone.

This can happen whether you are new to photography or, like myself, been shooting for years!

So in this episode, I’d thought I’d share the three tools I have literally just used to get myself out of a creative slump! There are of course many more but these just happen to the ones I’m loving right now.

My hope is that you can dive into this episode and get some ideas for how to motivate yourself again, start picking up your camera, and if I have really done my job well,  reignite your passion for photography!

HERE’S THE KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:

1️⃣ The #1 thing I’ve been focused on this month (and how surprised I was and how much this lit a spark within me!)

2️⃣ How shooting somewhere new helps you see the world with fresh eyes.

3️⃣ The prompt list I’m currently working through (and an alternate one you can do at any time!)

4️⃣ My go-to exercise for when I don’t know what to photograph!

5️⃣ A creative exercise you can do today that can help kickstart your creativity
