Self-pity does not produce holiness. It keeps us stuck in shame and depression. Romans 8:28 states

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” God continues to work on us in the midst of our victories AND our defeats. There is nothing God can’t use for His glory.
