One oft-overlooked group of investments is the mid-cap stock. These companies are further along in their life cycle than the small-caps yet not yet in the large-cap universe. Are they in a weird spot, or are they actually overlooked? I think a little of both, but one thing we do know is that their performance is fantastic. Today, I am making the point that leaving mid-caps out of your investment allocation is a bad idea, and these companies bring something unique to the table that is not the case with the small and large companies in which we all seem to have allocations.
