Seventh- and eighth-graders at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning in Perry kicked off a months-long project on Friday, Nov. 7, that combines science, public health, and advocacy related to an invisible health threats. In partnership with Utah- Radon.org, students will study and address radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas that causes lung cancer and is found at dangerous levels in nearly half of Utah homes. The project will combine fieldwork, data analysis, and civic engagement.
