“Being The First” - Part 1

“Being The First” - That phrase alone invokes courage - hope – and the chance to make a difference. 

But to truly understand the importance of those words, we need to look beyond one sentence to see what’s happening in New York City. SSEU Local 371 is Commemorating Black History Month Women’s History Month with our illustrious line-up of New York City trailblazers and memory-makers.  Tonight, we have with us:

• Darcel Clark, Bronx District Attorney

• Vanessa Gibson, Bronx Borough President 

• Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, Assembly Member/State Committee Woman 

We admire them for their bravery and perseverance through unspeakably difficult times.
