I met with Carol Connors last night at a quiet gathering, and we got to catch up on all sorts of things. I've known Carol since - well a long time! She is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter and author. One of her hits in the early 1960's was To Know Him is to Love Him, by the Teddybears, written by Phil Spector, yes that Phil Spector.

Carol recently published her autobiography - Elvis, Rocky & Me. Elvis was one of the big loves of her life and she writes about her romance with him. As for Rocky - Carol co-wrote the Rocky theme.

Carol also owned several Shelby Cobras, and had a friendship with Carroll Shelby.

On August 15, 2025, the Trillvision Film Festival brought together an extraordinary gathering of storytellers, performers, and visionaries. Designed as both a showcase and a celebration, the festival highlighted the artistry of independent filmmakers, the passion of actors, and the creativity of musicians who shared their voices on screen and stage.

The audience—composed of friends, families, and industry professionals—was treated to a diverse selection of films that reflected a wide range of perspectives and artistic styles. Between screenings, interviews with actors, directors, and musicians gave the audience an intimate glimpse into the creative process, while introductions set the stage for each project, underscoring the unique talent of every participant.

More than just a film festival, Trillvision 2025 became a community gathering point—an evening where connections were made, stories were honored, and creativity took center stage. Each performance and screening reminded attendees that film and music are not only forms of entertainment, but also powerful ways to inspire, provoke thought, and bring people together.

The Trill Award was given to the writer/producer of Pizza Killer. Of interest, Money Train's aunt was unfornately a victim of the pizza killer. 

Raven and I were hanging out at the beach a few weeks ago, talking about his August 15th show at Flame International. New material, and new band members. This is a short promo of that show.

Rand Selig has an MBA from Stanford and earned undergraduate degrees in mathematics and psychology. He has managed hundreds of complex projects in his career and has run his own financial services firm for over 35 years. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

He was a Little League coach and Scoutmaster and has served on numerous boards for decades. He is a roll-up-your-sleeves conservationist committed to helping others and Mother Earth by making annual philanthropic contributions.

This book is based on extensive research and a wide range of experiences he has had going through life. Having a high set point for happiness and being relentlessly positive has been invaluable to him in overcoming his challenges and setbacks. He is committed to personal growth and is willing to learn from his mistakes. Rand believes he can design his own life and believes others can too. 

Rand takes time every week to rest and recharge. He loves reading, watching movies, hiking, and playing tennis. He lives with his wife of 44 years in Mill Valley, California. They have two children and three granddaughters.

I was at the beach with my friend, Raven Hernandez of Redbone 2.0, just hanging out. I've known Raven for years through music, and he is one of most talented musicians I've met. He is a singer and songwriter. Raven replaced Lolly Vegas in the original Redbone, and was the lead singer for approximately 20 years. He talks about how he joined Redbone, his years on the road, and his songwriting journey. Raven also talks about his health crises, suffering from a heart attack and flatlining not the operating table and how that changed his life. It was not his time to go, and Raven is now living his life to the fullest.

This summer, he has a residency - the third Friday of the month - at Flame International, a Persian restaurant in West Los Angeles.

We had a lot of fun talking at the beach, and just hanging out.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Eszylfie Taylor, who is so interesting. His father is from Ghana and he is royalty from that country. However, Eszylfie is the founder and president of Taylor Insurance & Financial Services in Pasadena. He advises individuals, business owners and is a 15 time qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table. He talks about his journey to meet that goal - the goal was to become a millionaire. He is so approachable and just a nice person. I know you will find him interesting and helpful with financial services.

I recently had a very interesting conversation writer/author Louis Gale. We went straight into our conversation about everything! We started with the supermarket among other things. His first book - A written self portrait of psychosis is the first in a series of 6.

His second book in the series - A written self portrait in tragedy - will be released in a few weeks.

During our conversation we talk about how he was in a mental hospital for 7 weeks, and he had stopped speaking for about a year. And we also spoke about the Oracle in The Matrix. We spoke about everything.
