Heres an episode specifically for my people that want to visit Italy and/or study abroad. If you aren’t aware, I spent 4 months abroad in Italy, rome to be exact and it was an instant overwhelming culture shock. Now yes this experience is my own but ive found that alot of other people of color have had the same experience.

The goal for the 3rd party program (api) and the italian residents to me looked like they wanted abuse a black person so much that you would either give up and go home or show them the stereotypical true colors so that they could send you back to america or even worst, arrested. What i want you to take from my podcast, youtube, and tiktoks are me advising you to not lose your self in a country that already wants you gone. Research, research, and ask questions!

Now don’t get me wrong, I had some fun, while abroad. It was a huge eye opener for me.  Italy is beautiful. Its surreal. In one sentence: Italy was God throwing me in the water knowing i couldnt swim but now i can.
