Pastor Thom Keller is surveying the book of Genesis, and today we enter chapter six. Here we’re told that the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose! Their offspring were giants! This displeased the Lord greatly. So who were these sons of God? Well, not everyone agrees on the answer. While some suggest they were the descendants of Seth, there is good reason to believe they were actually fallen angels. Pastor Thom will explain why in this intriguing lesson titled, “The Sons of God Took Wives.”

What do you do when your world falls apart? In our survey of Scripture, we find a man named Job who experienced just that. Unfortunately for him, there was no handbook on suffering. Thankfully for us, we do have a handbook, it is the book of Job. God used Job’s life and tragedies to teach us how to react when life comes crashing down.

Our teacher, Pastor Thom Keller, is continuing in his verse-by-verse study of the book of Job. It’s a classic teaching on what happens when a child of God encounters great suffering. Amid suffering, we must never forget that God still loves us. In fact, the Bible tells us God is love. On The otherhand our enemy hates us. This is also displayed here in the first chapter of Job.

We do not often like to think about Satan and his minions but they are real. The book of Job gives us a unique look into the dealings that God has with the enemy of our souls. Our enemy, Satan, accuses us day and night before the Lord. The great and wonderful news is that Jesus is our defense attorney. Our study of the book of Job shows us how a Godly man can withstand the wiles of the devil and how God can be glorified even when we suffer.
