Studying Muscle Activity During Lameness

Listen Later

Surface electromyography (EMG) is a useful non-invasive tool to assess the electrical activation of skeletal muscle. EMG is increasingly used in research settings to understand how different events, such as induced lameness, impact how the neuromuscular system functions in horses. In this episode, we speak with Dr. Lindsay St. George about the exciting research being conducted with surface EMG and where this work is heading.
