The Filter and pump was about $182 at O'Reilly, the battery was about $225. Still much cheaper than hiring someone to do it. Bicknell had a hole already cut out in his truck bed. He had done it once where he had to remove the bed, once where he dropped the tank to get to it, then decided to cut the hole in the bed. Several have been put in, this is the 6th he's installed. I learned how to do it. He says this is a very common problem with that version of the Chevy and GMC trucks. Looking on YouTube I can attest to that. I did learn that this is the first time he replaced the fuel filter, which may be why he's going through so many pumps. The fuel line with the crimp in it may also be why the pump has gone bad. He lives and works on a tree farm. While driving through the fields a stick or log may have bent the fuel line causing this problem to worsen over the years. Just a thought... anyway, this is the first filter and pump I've replaced. I was just glad it was with his knowledge.
