SU Election special: Education Officer candidates

Listen Later

In this very special episode of the trinity ability co_op podcast, the host (@har23) sits down with the 2 candidates in the students union Education officer campaign. Bev genockey is a 3rd-year biomed student specializing in zoology, she is the Deputy STEM faculty convenor, and the chairperson of the Diversity in STEM committee. She's also the Biology convenor, representing ~500 students at school meetings. As well as this, she's been a Class Rep (twice!) and sits on the Education Committee. Dan O'Reilly is a 5th year Mechanical Engineering student, and has held and established many roles since he first got involved with the students union in 2nd year. I asked them all about why they're running, questioned their manifesto, and asked why theyre best suited to be education officer.

The Ability co_op is one of the largest student activism groups in the country, promoting awareness and advocating for policy changes to make trinity campus an inclusive environment for students with disabilities. despite only being established in the summer of 2020, we have already secured thousands in funding to support our projects, which include a short film we're producing, this podcast you're listening to, a training program we'll be rolling across the college, country, and potentially internationally, and more. we're always looking for people to help out wherever they can, whether it be graphic design, social media management, videography, writing, and so much more, so if you're interested in getting involved reach out to us.
