KLC 2015 Theme: Seeking His Kingdom
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

Lesson Text

21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22 who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 23 and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
1 Peter 2:21–25 (NASB)

God’s command is to submit to those who are in authority over you (government, workplace, family, etc).

If God commands it, you can do it.
Therefore submission is not a question of APTITUDE. It’s a question of ATTITUDE.

Follow Jesus’ example:

Jesus suffered. You’ll never SUFFER more than Jesus did.

3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:3 (NASB)

Jesus entrusted His fate to the Father, the Righteous Judge. The more you KNOW God, the more of your life you should ENTRUST to God.

7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

Philippians 3:7–8 (NLT)

Jesus suffered and died for our sins so that we could have life. Since Jesus suffered for you, is He asking too much of you to SUFFER for Him?

15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;

1 Peter 1:15 (NASB)

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions. Colossians 1:24 (NASB)

Additional Notes:

Our problem is we have our hands on too many things!!
Don't confuse manipulation with submission.
