Today is the final day for submissions regarding a proposed restructure of the University of Waikato’s Arts and Social Sciences Faculty. Associate Professor Martin Lodge explains how the proposal to reduce full time staff numbers within the Music Conservatorium from eight to five would have dire consequences for the department and the community.  He calls on the University to work together with staff to build a stronger future for culture in the region.  Fourth year violin student Rachel Twyman represents student opinion.
