This week Chelsey dives into submitting our desires and preferences before the Lord, seeking His heart through the study of His Word, and having constant reminders around that point us back to Him. 

Women In The Word:

• We have to approach God's Word seeking His heart and not through the lens of what we prefer.
• We have to have dialogue with other believers that will challenge us to seek His Word, we can't just agree with what everyone says God's Word says and claim we know it to be true.
• God's Word will never contradict itself.

Stories in scripture where we see the slippery slope of leading with what we prefer and the detriments of giving into the desires of our flesh:

• 2 Timothy 3:2-7
• 2 Samuel 11 & 12
• Numbers 15:32

We Need Reminders:

• Numbers 37-40 - We need reminders and things/people to hold us accountable to what God desires for us!
• He told the Israelites to make blue tassel cords as reminders of God's commands, to keep them, and to not follow their own heart + eyes.
• Our flesh's preferences and emotions do not have authority over us.
• We can't allow our flesh's preferences and emotions to deluded the work of Christ on the cross.
