Listen to the SF Daily podcast for today, June 16, 2025, with host Delaney Howell. These quick and informative episodes cover the commodity markets, weather, and the big things happening in agriculture each morning.

A recap for last week brought us headlines of Crude oil rallying on optimism over a potential U.S.–China trade deal. Gold closed at a record high Friday, and the U.S. dollar fell below 98 for the first time in three years. The Middle East conflict also added pressure to global markets.

RVOs remain a hot topic, with potential implications for biofuels and corn demand.

In livestock, cattle futures dropped Friday, but cash cattle held steady at $5 higher and boxed beef strengthened. Both cattle and hog futures were higher this morning. The Commitment of Traders report showed funds increasing net long positions in live cattle (131,728 contracts) and setting a new record in feeder cattle (34,624 contracts). Grains opened the week lower, with corn near July lows, while soybeans moved higher.
