In the UK budget on 16 March Chancellor George Osborne announced a new £520million levy on sugary drinks.
The levy will come into force in 2018 in order to give manufacturers time to reformulate. It will have two bands and pure fruit juices will be exempt. Claire Phoenix spoke with Zenith International Chairman Richard Hall on its implications for the global soft drinks industry.
