🕯️ A Bakersfield tragedy that shook an entire community 🕯️On the morning of August 26 2019, 37-year-old Sumandeep Kaur Kooner lost her life inside the family home she shared with her husband, children, and in-laws. Within minutes, police detained her father-in-law, Jagjit Singh. A three-year court process later concluded with a serious criminal conviction and a 35-years-to-life sentence in 2022. ⚖️In this video we remember Sumandeep with empathy and respect, tracing how a family disagreement turned tragic and exploring the wider cultural and legal questions the case raises.
