Summary of Sprint by Jake Knapp with John Zeratsky and Braden Kowitz | Includes Analysis
Preview:
A sprint is a lightning-speed process to isolate a company's most pressing problem and find its solution within a week. This speedy process was developed by author Jake Knapp and his co-authors in their work with Google Ventures, which invested in startups and other companies and needed to bring them to success expediently and efficiently. While the Google Ventures team became experts in this process, Sprint was written to share the practice with other companies that typically rely on the traditional brainstorm to generate new ideas quickly. Instead, the authors view the brainstorm as a failed concept for effecting meaningful change.
No longer does a company need the experts from Google Ventures to come in. The process is simple enough that any company or team within a company can conduct its own sprint.

This summary book also provides the reader information on the author's style and perspective. This is a good quick read specially for those who don't want to dive in straight into reading all 288 pages of the original book. It will help you with your decision making whether or not to purchase the original book.

I would like to give this summary a give-star because it pretty much answers everything I need to know about the concept of a sprint. It begins by explaining what a sprint is (i.e., a team's hyper-focused uninterrupted week-long meeting to come up with an implementable solution to a problem for a product or a feature of a product) and why it is needed (i.e., startups with limited amounts of resources need to know if some of those resources should be used toward developing the product/feature). It then goes into each day of the full work week and explains what is needed for each day, from defining the problem on Monday, to proposing solutions on Tuesday, to creating a hypothesis on the decided solution on Wednesday, to the prototype building on Thursday and finally testing with the appropriate number of testers on Friday.
