This is my Summer 2026 Update. I'm your host, Ohio pharmacist Kim Newlove. In this episode, I update you on my family, my business, my podcasts (both of them), and what I've been listening to, reading, watching, and playing.

In case you're new to the show, here's a little bit about me. I graduated from The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy with my BS Pharm in 2001. I have experience in hospital, retail, compounding, and behavioral health.

I'm not in clinical practice anymore. Some of my current job titles include

1. Voice Actor: medical narration and audiobooks
2. Podcast Host X 2 shows
3. Author - I wrote one book, and I'm working on a second one
4. Coach, Consultant, and Instructor - I primarily teach podcasting, audio engineering, audiobook narration, and drug pronunciations
5. Full-time caregiver for my adult son with autism.

Family Update

• Went on a family vacation to Alaska
• Finished pouring our backyard concrete patio
• Started a bathroom remodeling project

Nathan Update

• Turned 51
• Still a plant manager at First Solar
• Tried curling with me in February during the Olympics
• Went to a Euchre Tournament with me in February

Kraig Update

• Turned 23
• Spends most of his days at home and in our community doing things he enjoys

Derrick Update

• Turned 21.
• Home from college for the summer, and working a full-time summer internship
• Starts his 4th and final year of college in August. He will graduate May 2027.

Kim Update

• Met up with Toledo-area pharmacist friends for lunch
• Went to the Annual Meeting of the Ohio Pharmacists Association in Columbus in April
• Went to the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival in April
• Helping organize our 30th High School Class Reunion
• Working on a recipe book for Derrick
• Need to get my BMW motorbike serviced this summer
• Helping Mom with Storyworth and Dad with Remento
• Working on a genealogy project in August

Business Update - The Pharmacist's Voice ®, LLC

• Writing my second book
• Still plan to update my medical narration demo this year
• Read lines for an Internet Radio Station out of Cleveland, Ohio
• When it comes to coaching and consulting, I am still working with clients on podcast planning, author-read audiobooks, and drug pronunciations.
• I am keeping my pharmacist license current
• I signed up to teach Podcasting 101 Class at The 577 Foundation in September.
• By December 31, 2026, I will shut down my online courses (podcasting and pronunciations)
• I attended a Vision Board Workshop with Dr. Michelle Fritsch from Medipreneurs
• Pitched clients
• Conducting Meet and Greet Zoom calls with colleagues and students

Update on The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast

• Publishing monthly and loving it
• July 2026 will be an episode of The Pharmacist Authors Series

Update on The Perrysburg Podcast

• I was planning to end the podcast after 3 years, but I will keep it going once/month instead.
• I'm collaborating with an organization here in Perrysburg every other month, moving forward. I feel good about it, and I'm excited about it. Our first collaboration episode will publish in August 2026.
