Uncharted Universe – from my Universe series

A multi-layered painting with a slow birth painted over weeks. A first layer full of intense emotions, the release of collective trauma, pain and anger at the heart of the canvas. The second layer led to forgiveness and understanding, presencing past suffering and coming to terms with the past. The final layer, full of playfulness, carries with it the story of the painting, the deep lines of the first layers almost forming wrinkles in the structure, suggesting the journey to this final layer. No destination but an exploration of the possibles. Gold, magenta and phtalo green dominate. A feather was used to give this specific structure to heavy-bodied paint. Finally, like a sprinkle of hope and light, white acrylic ink finish off the painting, letting the journey continue.
