Summer Johnson McGee, Ph.D., CPH, is the 22nd president of Salem Academy and College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Since July 2021, she has served as the chief executive officer of the oldest educational institution for women and girls in the nation. A prominent advocate for the education and advancement of women in health professions, for the advancement of diversity, and for the power of educational innovation, Dr. McGee has been widely recognized for her work in higher education. She received the American College of Healthcare Executives Distinguished Faculty Regents Award in 2014. Dr. McGee holds a Ph.D. in Bioethics & Health Policy from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
