Welcome to Redemption Church of Plano Tx.
My name is Chris Fluitt.

Summer is supposed to be the season of fun. Sunshine, road trips, music, friends, maybe even a little rest — it’s the time of year we all look forward to, right?

What if that is not true for you?
What if you have a lot of noise, struggle, anxiety, worry during this season?

We believe God has something to say about the themes playing on repeat in our lives.

We’re going to talk about them. One by one. With truth, with honesty, and with a little fun.

Let’s have a life changing summer – together.

Today: Crazy Peace for your Crazy Life

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but peace seems to be one of the hardest things to find right now.

We’ve got apps to track our sleep…
music to help us chill…
scented candles that claim to reset our nervous system…
DOES ANYTHING WORK?

Have you ever felt like your life is just a little too loud?
Like your world is on full volume, and you can’t find the remote?

A few weeks ago, I was standing in line at Walmart—holding my phone, trying to answer emails, balancing a coffee, and fighting the temptation to make compulsion buys I absolutely did not need—and it hit me:

This is normal now.

Busy. Distracted. Overstimulated. Under-rested.
And nowhere in that equation is peace.

This current generation is called the most anxious generation… Here are some stats…

The most Anxious Generation

1. 91% of Gen Z reports physical or emotional symptoms due to stress (APA, 2023)

That means nearly every young adult is carrying stress that’s both mental & physical—it’s affecting their bodies too.

2. Anxiety diagnoses have tripled in the past decade.

In just ten years, anxiety has gone from a background issue to a front-page crisis.

3. 50% of young adults say they feel overwhelmed ‘most of the time.’

Half of your friends, coworkers, or classmates feel like life is too much—on a daily basis.

4. More than half of 20 to 40-year-olds say they’re running on empty.

Most people in your stage of life aren’t just tired—they feel spiritually and emotionally drained.

And here’s what makes that even more wild:
We have more comfort and convenience than any generation in history—yet peace feels more elusive than ever.

We’ve got instant everything—meals, movies, maps to anywhere—and still feel lost on the inside.

We are over-informed but under-inspired.
Connected to everything, but grounded in nothing.

And maybe you’ve asked the same quiet question so many others have:

“Is this just how life is now?
Will I ever really feel calm again?”

But here’s the twist:

What if peace wasn’t about what’s happening around you…
What if it’s about who’s at the center within you?

Let’s go back 2,000 years to one of the wildest moments in the ministry of Jesus.

Mark 4:35–41
Jesus and His disciples are out on a boat when a furious storm hits. The storm is soo bad that these professional fishermen are panicking.

And in the middle of all this…

“Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.” (Mark 4:38)

Sleeping. In a hurricane.
That’s a level of peace that borders on insane.

The disciples wake Him up, basically yelling:

“Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (v.38)

Jesus stands up—and rebukes the storm.

“Quiet! Be still!” (v.39)

And instantly—No Storm! No Waves! Peace.

Then He turns to His followers and asks:

“Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (v.40)

That moment shows us something life-changing:

“Jesus has the power to calm both the storm around you and the storm within you — and sometimes, He does both at once.”

Jesus calms the physical storm around His disciples.
Jesus stirs up the faith inside His disciples.

Let’s fast-forward to something Jesus says before He goes to the cross.

(John 14:27)

Jesus makes a clear distinction:

  • World peace—temporary, situational, easily shaken, and fragile.
  • His peace—steady, internal, and not tied to circumstances.
  • Think about this:

The same Jesus who slept through a storm…
The same Jesus who spoke to the chaos and silenced it…
Offers you that kind of peace.

And it’s not just a mindset.
    It’s not wishful thinking.
    It’s a person.

    Peace isn’t found in a feeling — it’s found in a person.

Jesus is our prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

For he (Jesus) himself is our peace… (Ephesians 2:14)

…making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Colossians 1:20)

    Jesus is not just peaceful…
Peace is not just what He does…
    HE IS PEACE.

His peace is stronger than storms.
    More ferocious than fear…

Jesus gives Crazy peace for your Crazy life.

3 simple ways to live this Peace

    1. Protect your playlist. QR CODE

What you allow into your ears affects your mind & heart.
Music, podcasts, news, noise—it all shapes your emotional climate.

This week, try listening to something that breathes peace into your soul.

Maybe it’s worship, or maybe something from our Summer Playlist like:
🎵 “Peace Be Still” or “Goodness of God”

Replace anxiety-fueling noise with peace-building sound.

    2. Practice Peace.

Try something daily that reminds you Jesus is with you:

    • 5 minutes of prayer.
    • A short Scripture.
    • A breath prayer: “Jesus, speak peace to my mind.”
    • Jesus doesn’t need you to perform.
He just wants permission to interrupt your chaos and enter your storm.

      3. Name your storm.

Peace isn’t found by pretending problems don’t exist.
Jesus didn’t ignore the storm—He addressed it.

So what’s your storm right now?

      • Stress about money?
      • Fear about your future?
      • Grief, heartbreak, or burnout?
      • Write it down. Talk to Jesus about it.
Maybe even share it with a friend or in your connect group.

If you are ready to experience peace I want you to do these 3 simple things.

Crazy Peace for your Crazy Life

What if peace wasn’t just possible—but promised?

What if this summer, instead of chaos winning, you learned how to speak to storms?

What if peace became part of your rhythm, not just a vacation you’re chasing?

Jesus came to calm DANGERS & DISCIPLES.
He came to calm you and your situation.

        (John 14:27)

        3-Part Call to Action:

🙌 1. Invite Jesus into your storm.

Even if it feels awkward. Even if you don’t know what to say.
Just be real. Say: “Jesus, I need Your peace. Join me in my storm.”

📱 2. Share this message with someone who’s drowning.

You know someone whose life is louder than it should be.
Invite them to church. Send them the link to this message.
Bring them with you – Next week we are talking about REAL REST & RELAXATION.
Not naps… but rest for your soul.

        🧡 3. Pray & Worship

        Experience God’s presence.
Pray with others… be prayed for.
This is where real life change happens… in His presence.
