Over the gate at Oaku temple, in Kyoto, the words "The First Principle" are carved in beautiful letters, which people come from afar to admire. Through the Zen story about Master Kosan and the old art of calligraphy, Vasant Swaha illustrates the blending of meditation into everything in life. When we are total in the moment, centered in our being, we become natural, we flow. From that space, whatever we do is harmonious, just like the painting in the story.
